Reliable operations should be designed before launch, not added after deployment. Document who responds to what, and when, before production traffic arrives.
At minimum, prepare monitoring alerts, backup recovery procedures, permission design, escalation rules and monthly cost reviews — even for smaller environments.
Monitoring should cover both metrics and logs. Alerts should focus on events that require human action; noisy paging reduces response quality over time.
